Neurological
Physiotherapy rehabilitation is invaluable for managing a wide range of conditions, including head injuries, strokes, Multiple Sclerosis, and Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson's Disease, muscular dystrophy. Those who suffer from these conditions can benefit from physiotherapy to improve balance, coordination, and muscle control. It also addresses long-term complications, such as muscle tightening, which can significantly impact mobility but are often effectively treatable. We bill directly to WorkSafeBC, ICBC and most extended health plans.
Musculoskeletal
Physiotherapy is an effective treatment for a range of musculoskeletal injuries, including issues affecting bones, muscles, and joints. These injuries may result from new or old accidents, falls, surgeries, or conditions such as arthritis. Common examples include sports injuries, tennis elbow, and joint stiffness. With targeted therapies, physiotherapy can help restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve overall function.
Hip & Knee Rehabilitation
Physiotherapy plays a crucial role in hip and knee replacement rehabilitation by improving strength, mobility, and flexibility. Through tailored exercises and techniques, it helps reduce pain, restore movement, and support a faster recovery, allowing patients to return to their daily activities with confidence.
SPINAL DECOMPRESSION THERAPY
-
If you’re dealing with lower back pain, a pinched nerve, sciatica, radiating pain in your arms or legs, neck pain, or conditions like damaged or degenerative discs, spinal stenosis, or post-operative complications, Spinal Decompression could be the solution for you. This advanced, non-surgical treatment is also effective for addressing lumbar and cervical spine syndromes.
Spinal Decompression is a gentle, state-of-the-art procedure designed to alleviate pain in the lower back, neck, and sciatica caused by bulging, herniated, or degenerative discs. By applying controlled distraction forces, it creates a decompression effect in the spine, relieving pressure and promoting improved blood flow and nutrient delivery to the injured area.
During the treatment, you’ll experience a series of gentle stretch-and-relax cycles, gradually building to an optimal level over several minutes. This process helps facilitate healing, offering a safe and effective option for lasting pain relief.
-
Therapy sessions are brief, typically 15-20 minutes, and scheduled three times a week for about a month. As your condition improves, treatments shift from passive to active methods. Many patients feel pain relief after 6-10 sessions, with most completing treatment within 8 weeks. Follow-up appointments can be scheduled as needed to monitor progress.
A program focused on stabilizing ligaments, tendons, and muscles is key to Spinal Decompression therapy. Targeted exercises, combined with treatments like heat therapy, muscle stimulation, ultrasound, and cold therapy, help effectively rehabilitate these structures. Our goal is to promote disc healing, strengthen muscles, and improve back and neck support.
To maintain spinal health and reduce recurrence, we recommend regular home exercises and periodic office visits. These proactive steps will help sustain your progress over time.
