Health-related Conditions
Rehabilitation
Research shows that physical activity reduces the chances of heart disease, cancer, and osteoporosis. With the assistance of your physician and specialists we design fitness and lifestyle programs to help our clients manage clinically diagnosed chronic diseases such as Parkinson’s, arthritis (osteoarthritis and rheumatoid), diabetes, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, cancer, fibromyalgia.
Each condition has special considerations that Personal Trainers and Weight Room Instructors do not have the knowledge to assist you with. Also, many people get into cycles of either doing too little physical activity or too much, which makes their condition worse.
We will teach you how to get stronger, increase your energy and move freely. We will also help you understand how to monitor your progress while still pushing yourself. We ease the transition from treatment and/or rehabilitation into community based health and fitness programs.
Cost: $59 per session (includes HST)

What is Evidence-based practise?
'Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) requires that decisions about health care are based on the best available, current, valid and relevant evidence. These decisions should be made by those receiving care, informed by the tacit and explicit knowledge of those providing care, within the context of available resources.
The 'conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients.'
A best practice is a technique or methodology that, through experience and research, has proven to reliably lead to a desired result. A commitment to using the best practices in any field is a commitment to using all the knowledge and technology at one's disposal to ensure success.
There is a practise of
health-care that calls itself “applied kinesiology” or Touch
for health. Do not be confused by the fact that this kind
of practise uses the name kinesiology. They are not the
same.
